Frequently Asked Questions

Location:

Global. I work in person in the San Francisco East Bay and virtually wherever you are.

Insurance Policies

I do not take insurance. Due to the structure of the insurance system, to apply for insurance you must have something “wrong” with you so that we can check the appropriate boxes. You are not broken! My clients want personal growth and to extend their health and well-being. If you do need help with a pervasive challenge, it could be that you first need to see a therapist.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

We can start with a free 30-minute Clarity Consult. This gives me an idea of what services you’re looking for and gives us a chance to see if we would like to move forward and work together.

For the free 30-minute Clarity Consult, you can call, text, or email me from my Contact Page. I will then send you my scheduler link from where you can pick a date/time that works for each of us to get started. There are no obligations! Even if you are just curious about me, or my work, please contact me for a chat.

What is your cancellation policy?

If the client is more than 10 minutes late for a session, I will assume the session is cancelled and the client will forfeit the session fee. If you must reschedule, I require 24 hours notification. This does not include true emergencies that may occur, of course. Should you miss two appointments during our coaching relationship (without notification or rescheduling), we will evaluate whether coaching is appropriate for you at the current time.

Who is your demographic?

I work with those who are 23+, and I major in women as they have very different life challenges than do men. I do love and work with people of all genders, ages, types, shapes, sizes, colors, as long as you come wearing your willingness to be seen and to roll up your sleeves.

Do you specialize?

I have created a niche of women in major life transitions and those who are looking to fly free and expand their current life. Life transitions can include: navigating divorce or separation, career changes, expat challenges, etc.

What is your approach?

I use a collaborative and interactive style. You are not alone, nor should you be. Each session is 50 minutes in length and can take place in my office, via phone, or virtually, whichever format upon which we mutually agree. As a reminder, a consulting session should be distraction free, so public venues are not most efficient.

In between sessions, you are free to contact me via phone, text or email at any time you have questions, concerns, need clarification or support.

What do you do in sessions with clients?

Please come well rested, as I do not have a couch. Depending upon the life circumstance with which we are working, I ask poignant, targeted questions to efficiently get to the heart of the matter. I use different exercises (not those needing sneakers) that filter out responses to help us further define strategies and solutions.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?

I believe it is important for the client to keep their head in the game between sessions. To stay motivated and engaged, I send an email with full feedback and insight from our time together. I will often ask you to complete some tasks or experiments that will keep you on track and move you toward your goals.

However, my approach is self-paced, and it is important that you are not overwhelmed by any of the material or have heavy expectations. This is not about creating more stress, but instead to relieve stress as you will soon be operating from your authentic Self and be aligned with your truth.

What modalities do you use in working with clients?

My work comes from the many aspects of integration in MindBody Health.

My specialties include Consciousness and Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology and Mental Wealth.

What is your professional training and experience?

I have a BS in Applied Economics and minor studies in psychology. My Master’s degree is in Consciousness and Transformative Studies with a specialization in Consciousness and Health where I studied Trauma and PTSD, Somatic Psychology, Psychoneuroimmunology and received certification in CBT/DBT.

During my long working career, I have also picked up a few other skills along the way. Some of those include, Registered Investment Advisor, Paralegal (Research and Litigation), and certification in the Science of Happiness and TEFL.

What else does a client need to know to make the most of your services?

I ask that those who come to see me commit to doing the work and are ready to be vulnerable and honest. You will know when you are ready, willing and able to start. We will talk about this readiness in the Clarity Consult.

How many years on your couch will it take to “cure” me? MY husband? My mother?

Firstly, I do not have a couch, and there is nothing wrong with you! If you are just wanting a sympathetic ear where you can practice your story for years to come, I am not the professional for you. I want to practice positive behaviors and work with positive change to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

Our worlds are a reflection of the choices we have made. I will ask you to own and be accountable for your challenges, expectations and life. This will be an exercise in finding your inner strength and personal power to deliver the life you have always wanted.

We each have intricacies and complexities that are specific to our history, experiences, health, etc. Working together we will strike a balance between a soft place to fall, empathetic ear, and let’s get to work deciding and choosing your best life.
